Notice of Mathway Data Compromise

CaTS has been notified that Mathway, a popular math solving application, recently suffered a data breach, most likely in January 2020. The breach affected approximately 300 thousand Mathway users, some of whom are Wright State students, faculty, and staff.

You have been identified as a customer who used your Wright State email address to sign up for Mathway. Below is information on how you can ensure both your Wright State and personal accounts remain safe:

• If the password you used for the Mathway website is the same password used for any of your Wright State accounts, please change your password for those accounts. Visit wright.edu/accounts for instructions on how to change your passwords. CaTS asks that you make completely unique passwords for your Wright State accounts.
• Go to the Mathway website and change your password immediately.
• If you have used this password for other sites you use, change the password on those sites as soon as possible.
