About Laptops2Go

Do you need a better way to take notes? Would you like to do web-based research while working with a study group? Want to try a laptop before buying? With the Laptops2Go service you can check out a laptop that allows you to do these things and more. PC laptops are available for checkout for the day while the Help Desk is open, free of charge, for registered students at Wright State. Stop by the CaTS Help Desk in 025 Library Annex to get started. Available To

Students currently enrolled and in good standing with the university can check out a laptop. Faculty, staff, and unaffiliated individuals are not eligible for the Laptops2Go program.

Getting Started

Laptops are available for checkout from the CaTS Help Desk in 025 Library Annex. You'll need your Wright1 Card to begin the checkout process.

Before checking out a laptop for the first time, students will have to read and sign the Laptops2Go Equipment Use & Liability Agreement (PDF), which details the terms and conditions the student must meet or follow in order to checkout laptops. Students should read and understand the Equipment Use & Liability Agreement before signing it.  

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I install my own software on the laptop?

    Yes! You can install any legitimate software on the laptop. However you cannot make major changes to the operating system (i.e. uninstall Windows and install Linux). Keep in mind, though, that when the computer is restarted, all unsaved work and software installations will be lost.

  • Do you provide a power cord?

    Yes, a power cord is provided with your laptop checkout.

  • Why can't faculty or staff check out the laptops?

    Faculty and staff can check out laptops from the CaTS Equipment Checkout service.
