Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I access my online course evaluations?

You can access your evaluations through links in Pilot and email notifications sent to students with evaluations available to them. After logging into Pilot, you will be prompted to complete your course evaluation. You can choose to either complete the evaluation at that time, or choose to come back and do it later.

  • Why don’t I see evaluations for all of my courses?

Classes with an enrollment of less than two students will not receive an evaluation. Indepent Studies, Independent Readings, Research, Thesis, some Internships, and continuing registration will not receive evaluations.

If you feel your class should be evaluated, please contact your Professor or Department Chair.

  • I don’t have time to complete my evaluation right now. Will my answers be lost if I stop in the middle of the evaluation?

Your answers will be saved if you select the 'Come Back Later' button at the bottom of the evaluation, allowing you to finish at another time.

  • Will evaluation results be available to faculty before grades are posted?

No. Reports will not be available until after final grades are due.

  • How will I know the online course evaluations are available?

Students will receive notifications via their Wright State email account.

  • How can I tell if I have completed all of my online course evaluations?

Once you have finished all of your available evaluations, you will no longer be prompted to complete them when you login to Pilot. After you have submitted all of your evaluations, you will no longer see survey links at the top of Pilot.

  • Why should I complete my online course evaluations?

Your feedback is vital in determining the strengths and weaknesses of courses, programs, and faculty instruction. Completing your course evaluations allows faculty, department heads, and Deans to learn about your experience in the classroom. It is up to you to make the university learning experience the best it can be.

  • How do I know my evaluations are anonymous and confidential?

The majority of Wright State courses are evaluated through the online student evaluation process in a program called Watermark Course Evaluations & Surveys. Your responses are completely anonymous, and your answers are kept separate from your name in the Watermark Course Evaluations & Surveys program. The administrators of Watermark Course Evaluations & Surveys can only tell whether or not you have completed your evaluation. The instructors of record cannot even see who has or has not completed the evaluation, and they do not receive any results until after all grades have been submitted to the Registrar for the semester. Please note Watermark Course Evaluations & Surveys works through Pilot so you will receive information from your personal Pilot site. It is completely confidential and anonymous. No one can access your personal Pilot site to determine if you completed an evaluation or review an evaluation you have given.
