Pilot Course Retention Policy

Overview

Wright State University will be purging content from our Learning Management System (Pilot) in accordance with our Pilot retention policy.  Retention policy for Pilot data can be found at:

Academic courses and the associated content within Pilot are maintained for 6 years following the semester in which they were delivered. Courses beyond 6 years will be scheduled for deletion.

The initial purge of course content from Pilot is scheduled to start March 2026. CaTS will begin with the 2010 courses and continue purging a year at a time each month for the next 10 months and end with 2019. Once CaTS is complete with these 10 years, we will keep on a schedule of purging content each year, keeping up with the 6-year retention policy.

What Does This Mean For Me?

CaTS will notify the instructor of record a month in advance indicating their course is scheduled for deletion. If the instructor has course content they wish to keep, they will need to download this content outside of Pilot.  Instructions on how to download and store course content can be found below.
