Ohio Minimum Wage Increases January 1, 2014
The Constitutional Amendment passed by Ohio voters in November 2006 states that Ohio’s minimum wage shall increase on January 1st of each year by the rate of inflation. The state minimum wage is tied to the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
Ohio’s minimum wage is scheduled to increase on January 1, 2014 from $7.85 per hour to $7.95 per hour.
Any student employee who earns under $7.95 will receive an increase to $7.95 beginning December 21, 2013, the first day of the pay period that includes January 1, 2014.
Previously announced changes to Student Employment Maximum Work Hour Policies will not be implemented on August 17th, 2013.
On campus supervisors and students are encouraged to check the Student Employment website regularly.
About Student Employment
Career Services connects students with on-campus supervisors who have part-time jobs funded through departmental budgets, institutional grants, and Federal Work-Study awards.
We also work with off-campus employers who want to post part-time, generalist job openings online for Wright State students.
Federal Work-Study Awards
The Federal Work-Study Program is a federal financial aid program for eligible undergraduate and graduate students. While all students are eligible for jobs designated as On-Campus Regular student employment, only students who receive Federal Work-Study Awards are eligible for jobs designated as On-Campus Work-Study. A limited number of off-campus tutoring positions are available to Work-Study recipients.
