VDI System Outage 8/4/18

CaTS will be performing upgrades to the storage systems used by the VDI environment on the following date and time:

Date: Saturday, 8/4/18
Time: Noon - 10 p.m.

Your VDI workstations will be unavailable during this period.

This maintenance will require all virtual machines to be shut down. Save any work that you have open and power down your machine prior to the maintenance date and time.

Banner Maintenance for 7/7/18

CaTS will be conducting maintenance on the Banner system on Saturday, July 7 from 6 a.m. - 6 p.m.. This maintenance is to prepare Banner for the upcoming conversion of Pilot to the Cloud.

Access to the following Banner services will be unavailable during this time:

  • WINGS Express
  • Banner Admin
  • Wright1 Card Services
  • TouchNet
  • Appworx
  • Parking Services
  • WrightBuy
  • Xtender
  • uAchieve / DARS
  • Printing using Pharos
  • ODS/Cognos

Additionally, the CaTS Help Desk will be unable to reset PINs and passwords during this time. The Password Management tool in WINGS will also be unavailable.

Wireless Maintenance for 6/19/18

Due to a system upgrade on portions of the wireless infrastructure, the following wireless networks will be unavailable Tuesday, June 19 from 6 a.m. - 7:30 a.m.:

  • WSU Secure
  • Ellis
  • Ellis Registration
  • Nutter Center public wireless

Due to their use of the WSU Secure network, AppleTVs will also be unavailable within classrooms and conference rooms.

WSU EZ Connect will still be available during the wireless maintenance.

Upcoming System Maintenance and Upgrades

Over the next few days, both Panopto Cloud and the Wright State voicemail system will experience outages due to maintenance or upgrades.

Saturday, June 9, 7:00 – 11:00 p.m.

Panopto Cloud customers will be upgraded to Panopto 5.7. This upgrade will require downtime:

  • Sites will be updated from 7:00pm to 11:00pm EDT.
  • We expect up to 4 hours of downtime.

During the time your site is offline, you will not be able to access recordings on your server, and any attempts to upload from clients will result in a "Server unable to connect" message.

CaTS will be conducting maintenance on the campus voicemail system. During this time, users will not be able to access or leave voicemails.

Voicemail Upgrade Coming Soon

CaTS has recently implemented and tested an upgraded campus voicemail system. 

On February 6, 2018, CaTS will replace the current voicemail system with this new system for all campus voicemail users. This upgrade is needed since the current system is 10 years old and the vendor no longer provides support. 

To ensure a seamless transition, CaTS is asking that users prepare for this upgrade before the system cutover on February  6. The website listed below will guide you through setting a new PIN and configuring your personal greeting on the new system. These steps should take less than 5 minutes to complete. 

Important Notes: 

  • You will be required to set a new PIN and record a voicemail greeting in order to fully complete the setup process. Do not begin these steps unless you are prepared to record your greeting and create the PIN. 
  • These steps must be completed before February 6, 2018. Otherwise, you won't receive voicemails after the upgrade has been completed.
  • After the conversion on February 6, you will continue to check your voicemail using x1010. 
  • Existing voicemails will not be transferred to the new system. CaTS encourages you to review and clean up your existing voicemail before the February 6 conversion date.

CaTS will be conducting maintenance on the Banner system during the date and time listed below:

Time: 6 a.m. – 2 p.m.

During this time, CaTS will be updating core Banner modules that will address bug fixes, meet financial aid regulatory requirements and meet prerequisites for Banner 9.

Access to all Banner-related services will be unavailable, including the following:

This upgrade is taking place in order to provide more security for Banner and also to better position the university for a transition to the Banner 9 platform.

Wireless Connectivity Issues

CaTS is aware of intermittent connectivity issues with the wireless network. Devices are taking longer than normal to connect to the wireless access points. When attempting to connect to the wireless network on campus, please allow a few moments for your device to try the connection. You can also try disconnecting your device or computer from the network and reconnecting, although this may also take several attempts.

CaTS is working on a resolution to this problem and will notify the university when it is resolved. For further questions, please contact the CaTS Help Desk at (937) 775-4827.

Blackboard Collaborate Outage - 1/12/17

Currently, the Blackboard Collaborate web conferencing tool within Pilot is unavailable. Blackboard is aware of the issue and is working on a resolution. CaTS will post updates every 30 minutes below.
