The Help Desk was recently notified of an email phishing scam that targets Wright State members. The email appears to come from the address ‘info@prevensystem.com’ and contains an attached password protected Excel file.
Please be aware that this is a scam. As always, do NOT click on any links or download any documents that may be contained in this email, and do not respond to this email with any personal information.

Upcoming Winter Break Maintenance
CaTS will be performing maintenance over Winter Break (12/24 – 1/3) causing service outages for the following systems:
Date: Monday, December 28
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Due to an upgrade of our VDI environment, all VDI systems will be unavailable during the above date and time. It is not necessary to power down your VDI during this date and time.
Date: Tuesday, December 29
Time: 7 – 8 a.m.
CaTS will be performing system updates causing a voicemail outage during the above date and time. Individuals will not be able to leave messages or check voicemail during this time.
Date: Tuesday, December 29
Time: 8 a.m. – 9 a.m.
CaTS will be deploying a new Weblogic server, which houses WINGS Express services, on the above date and time.

Reminder: Panopto Cloud Scheduled Downtime: 12/19/20
As a reminder, on Saturday, December 19, 2020, the Panopto Cloud will be updated with the latest features and improvements. These updates will require downtime. Panopto expects up to 3 hours of downtime, with a target start time of 9:00 pm EST.
During the downtime, you will not be able to access videos on our Panopto site, and any attempts to upload from recording clients will result in a "Server unable to connect" message.
Network Shared Drive Upgrade for 12/19
Beginning Saturday, December 19, from 8 p.m.–6 a.m., CaTS will be performing upgrades to the campus network storage. You may experience intermittent issues when accessing the network H:, K:, and R: drives during this time.
CaTS recommends you save all of your work prior to this maintenance.

Available Now: Two-Factor Authentication for Students!
CaTS now offers a two-factor authentication service to increase security for Wright State student accounts!
As of January 19, 2021, Wright State students now have the option to sign up for two-factor authentication through DUO Mobile. If you choose to sign up for this service, you will be prompted to confirm your login by receiving a Duo Mobile ‘push’ to your smart phone when accessing services like WINGS, Office 365, ServiceNow, and more. What is Two-Factor Authentication?

Benefits of Two-Factor Authentication
- Provides increased online security.
- Provides increased security for your Wright State accounts.
Over the past year, the Help Desk has reset the accounts of 165 Wright State users due to compromised accounts. If someone else gains access to your account, they now have access to all of your Wright State student information, can send emails on your behalf, and potentially gain access to other external, non-Wright State accounts that may be tied to your Wright State email address.

VDI Maintenance for 12/28
Due to an upgrade of our VDI environment, all VDI systems will be unavailable on Monday, December 28 from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
It is not necessary to power down your VDI during this date and time, however CaTS recommends saving your work beforehand.
