Annual Wright State University Retirees Luncheon

Climate change, natural disasters and resiliency

The Annual WSU Retirees Luncheon will be held Friday, May 5, 11 a.m.–2 p.m., in the E.J. Nutter Center Berry Room. The event, which is open to current faculty and staff as well as retirees, provides a wonderful opportunity for renewing old friendships and creating new ones. The doors to the Berry Room will open at 11 a.m. for social hour, and a buffet luncheon, including a vegetarian option, will begin around noon. The registration deadline has been extended to Wednesday, April 26.

Our guest speaker will be WSU alumnus Eric M. Leckey, associate administrator for mission support at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), who will discuss FEMA’s response to the challenges posed by the dramatic pattern of recent climate change-fueled violent weather, fires, floods and other natural disasters.

The cost of the luncheon is $30 per person. Due to COVID, in addition to open and reserved seating for tables of eight, we can accommodate tables of six. To make your reservation, download and complete this registration form (PDF) and return it by mail to the address noted at the bottom. All checks must be payable to WSURA or they will be returned. Be sure to include your table preference and a list of the names of people in your party when you RSVP.

RSVPs are due by Wednesday, April 26, and confirmations will be sent by email. If cancelation is necessary due to illness, payment will be refunded. Other reimbursements will be considered dependent upon the resale of your reservation. For more information, call 937.974.4010.

The WSURA board has committed to providing support for the Raider Food Pantry, which offers free grocery items to our university students. We invite attendees to join us in this worthy cause by bringing nonperishable items to this event.
