Are you familiar with the security clearance process and how it works? If hired for a federal job, you must obtain a favorable federal background investigation and, in some cases, obtain favorable eligibility to be granted a security clearance. If you are interested in working in the defense community for the government or private companies, you may need to start preparing for the background investigation and issuance of a security clearance now.

Ms. Heather Sivrais is the Director of Security for Air Force Life Cycle Management (AFLCMC) Engineering Directorate (EN) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) and she will be leading us through the security clearance process. Ms. Sivrais served as a Security Forces member assigned to WPAFB from 2002-2008.  Upon leaving active duty she worked as a contractor performing Security Specialist duties at WPAFB from 2009-2020.  In 2020 she became a United States Air Force civilian and is the subject matter expert in a variety of security disciplines, specifically the security clearance process.

Attend this workshop to learn about the security clearance process. Specifically, you will learn:

  • Security Clearance process from start to finish.

-Introduction to eQIP, SF86 and fingerprints.

-Introduction to investigation and adjudication requirements.

  • Introduction to reporting requirements.
  • Introduction to Continuous vetting.
  • What can disqualify you from obtaining a security clearance.
  • How you can prepare for a security clearance now.

This workshop will walk you through the most critical elements of a security clearance and will help you prepare and succeed in the future.

At the end of the workshop, we will also have a special presentation on internship and career opportunities at WPAFB with Mr. Larry Ford, Logistics Training Development Coordinator at the Workforce Development Branch.
