ACTUARIAL CAREERS AT CARESOURCE

Presenters:  Wright State Alumna Samantha Creekbaum, and Will Raaf

Founded in 1989 and headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, CareSource has built a legacy of providing quality health care coverage for Medicare and Medicaid consumers. CareSource also has a diverse offering of insurance plans on the Health Insurance Marketplace. CareSource serves more than 2 million members across six states supported by a growing workforce of 4,500.

Bio Sketch:

Sammy Creekbaum serves as an individual contributor on the Reserving team in the Actuarial Department. Sammy began her work at CareSource as part of the first group of virtual interns in the summer of 2020, she then graduated the following spring from Wright State University with her Bachelor of Science in Statistics. While working at CareSource she has spent her time working on the reserving team, organizing team training sessions, and pursuing her ASA credentials. Sammy lives in Beavercreek with her two cats where she spends her free time taking care of her plants, cooking, and spending time outdoors. 

Will Raaf serves as an individual contributor on the Reserving team in the Actuarial Department. Will graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Notre Dame. After 3.5 years as a consulting retirement benefits actuary, Will now works on reserving, Mental Health Parity, and compiling Actuarial Opinions and Memoranda at CareSource. Will lives in Miamisburg with his pet greyhound and enjoys running, reading, and playing piano.

Sammy and Will are going to be looking to identify potential internship candidates so bring your resume and cover letter with you to the talk!
