Prof. Mark Van Wienen, Professor of English, Northern Illinois University, will speak on American poetry in 1914. Professor Van Wienen is the editor of Rendezvous With Death: American Poems of the Great War (University of Illinois Press, 2002) and the author of Partisans and Poets: The Political Work of American Poetry in the Great War (Cambridge University Press, 1997) as well as a number of articles about American literature and culture of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
