Microelectronic applications heavily rely on embedded hardware systems. Due to supply chain manufacturing, unfortunately, these devices are increasingly designed and fabricated by an untrusted third party and, thus, are vulnerable to new surfaces of cyber and physical system attacks at different stages of the semiconductor IC manufacturing lifetime. In this regard, hardware-oriented security and trust (HoST) research has recently gained momentum to enable trust and assurance for protecting electronic system applications against new attacks. Dr. Amsaad has established a (HoST) lab at Wright State University and will cover fundamental and interesting state-of-the-art research topics being worked on during this talk.
