International Transcripts

On this page:

General International Transcript Requirements

All transcripts must be submitted directly to your student application portal with university grading scale used to confer degree.

Students must submit their official transcript bearing the university stamp, hologram, seal, or university registrar's signature.

All students must truthfully report their full academic education history, past and current. Failure to do so will result in the delay of processing the application.

Please refrain from sending transcripts via mail unless the University Center for International Education (UCIE) office makes a specific request.

Transcripts received in the mail will not be processed or returned to the student.

If your university does not issue their transcripts in English, you must provide an original copy of your transcripts alongside an official translation of your transcript and degree certificate.

Special International Transcript Requirements—IEE Evaluation

Due to the lack of country-specific expertise in credential evaluation for your provided transcript, applicants from the following countries are required to have their transcript evaluated through an international credential evaluation service:

  • Afghanistan
  • Bangladesh
  • Gambia
  • Iran
  • Iraq
  • Kazakhstan
  • Kenya
  • Liberia
  • Libya
  • Nigeria
  • Pakistan
  • Tajikistan
  • Turkmenistan
  • Uzbekistan

Wright State University has coordinated with International Education Evaluations (IEE) to evaluate your transcript at a discounted rate. All fees are the responsibility of the applicant.

Please select to have your institution send your original documents to IEE by mail or email. Please review the rates and upload a copy of your transcripts and mark sheets to the "My IEE portal" (linked below). Once the evaluation is complete, the international admissions office will be notified, and your application will be processed. Students from other territories that wish to have a faster turnaround on their application are welcome to use the service.

Transcripts from U.S. Institutions

All transcripts issued by a U.S. institution must be sent directly from the institution directly to Wright State University. We will not accept transcripts submitted by the student onto their application portal. The UCIE office will process the application once we receive the official transcripts from the U.S. institution.

Undergraduate Students with International College Coursework

If international admissions identifies an applicant with international transfer course credit, we will ask the applicant to complete an external course-by-course evaluation with either International Education Evaluations (IEE) or World Education Services (WES).  This evaluation must be done with an official transcript provided to the external evaluator. Once completed, Wright State will receive an official course-by-course evaluation to be posted for review by academic advisors in your department.

Effective with the Fall 2026 semester, we are implementing the following process for admitted undergraduate students with international transfer course credit.

To meet the conditions of your provisional admission, please complete an external course-by-course evaluation with one of these three approved evaluation companies. Evaluation costs are the responsibility of the student.

This evaluation must be done with an official transcript provided to the external evaluator. Please select Wright State University as the recipient of the evaluation. Once completed, Wright State will receive the official course-by-course evaluation which will be reviewed and accepted by the admissions team and then posted to your Wright State transcript by the Registrar's Office.

International Admissions reserves the right to request an additional report if the evaluation is not based on official documents originated from the university.

Provisionally Admitted Students

Provisionally admitted students must bring the official documents for all materials listed as "Transcript (Copy)" on their admission portal.

International transcripts uploaded to the student portal, i.e., copies of your original official transcripts, are considered unofficial. Unofficial transcripts are sufficient for an admission decision. We ask our provisionally admitted students to bring their original transcripts and degree certificate with them when they travel to the U.S. We collect the documents during the first semester, review, certify them as official, make a copy, and return the originals to the students.

If admission requirements are not met during the term of provisional admission, a hold may be placed on the students' academic records; registration for future terms may be denied; all graduate credit earned while in provisional status may be changed to undergraduate credit; and students may be immediately dismissed from the College of Graduate Programs and Honors Studies.
