About Orientation
Welcome to the Raider family! We understand you will have many questions as you prepare for the next step in your journey. We're here to help. By participating in orientation, you will gain the knowledge and confidence to excel as a Wright State student.
During your orientation experience, you have the opportunity to:
- Meet with faculty, staff, and students who can answer your questions
- Explore student support services and academic life
- Gain a better understanding of your personal, academic, and financial responsibilities while attending college
- Learn how to make a smooth transition to Wright State
- Experience Wright State spirit and pride
For Students Starting Classes in Fall 2023
Fall Semester begins on August 28. Get the tools you need to succeed at Wright State during orientation.
Register for your on-campus orientation session.
Students starting classes this fall should attend one of our upcoming orientation sessions to prepare for their first semester and beyond.
Visit your Admissions Portal to register for one of the following dates. On the Home tab, under Next Steps, select Orientation Registration.

Meet with your advisor to create your schedule prior to your orientation session.
Your academic advisor will walk you through the course registration process and help you create your course schedule. Schedule an in-person, virtual, or phone appointment as soon as possible for the best selection of classes.

Before your advising appointment, be sure to submit your final official high school, College Credit Plus, and/or other college transcripts and review the Math and English Course Placement Testing information to determine your need for placement tests.
Attend your on-campus orientation session.
Your on-campus orientation session is a half-day program designed to provide you with the tools you need to be a successful Wright State student. During your session, you will take a deeper dive into your academic college by meeting faculty and students and exploring the spaces you will call home. You will also get your Wright1 Card student ID and learn more about campus life and resources. Lunch will be provided.

Summer Semester begins May 8. Now is the time to prepare for your first day of classes.
