Guest Artist Lecture: Abbie Conant

Ms. Conant will be lecturing on the status of women in music by sharing her experiences as a woman trombonist in the days when women still faced serious discrimination. She will share the work she and her husband William Osborne have done to allow women admission to orchestras that until recently entirely excluded them such as the Vienna Philharmonic. She will also discuss how together, they have translated her experiences with egregious sexism into their music theater works.
