Who Are We and What Does It Mean To You?
Abdul Shakur Ahmad, known as Rick Martin when he played for the Raiders in the mid-70's, was one of the early greats of Wright State basketball. When he ended his playing career in 1976, he was third all-time in career points with 1,182, the all-time leader with 352 assists, 99 games, 261 steals and dished out the most assists in a game with 10. The Middletown native also held the record for most field goals in a row with 11. He was a three-time Raider Award winner, Co-MVP in 1976 and two-time captain as he helped his team to the school's first ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 1976.
