Presenter: Rick Stiens, FSA, MAAA

Rick will talk about the job application process and ways to stand out, including building a killer resume, gaining experience while in school, searching for the right job and nailing that interview. Get the inside scoop on what employers value the most in a candidate and what you can do to improve your chances of getting an offer.
Bio Sketch:
Rick Stiens is Vice President & Actuary – Actuarial Risk Management at the Cincinnati, Ohio location of Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. During his 28 years at Ameritas (formerly Union Central Life), Rick started in Life Pricing / Product Development developing new insurance products before moving to the Marketing department to manage the competitive intelligence / agent support unit. Currently in the Corporate Actuarial department, Rick has been involved in various aspects of financial modeling, forecasting, planning, financial reporting and most currently risk management.
Rick is also involved in several volunteer efforts including the Society of Actuaries, Boys Scouts of America, Forest Park Chamber of Commerce and Xavier Professional Mentor Program.
Rick is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science – University Scholar degree in Mathematics from Xavier University.
