Handshake connects students on college campuses with open positions, mainly internships and entry-level jobs. Handshake is also where you can find on-campus jobs and career-related events and career fairs. Users create a profile with their past experiences and information similar to LinkedIn.
Having trouble getting started with your Handshake profile? Don’t try to do it all in one day! Instead, kick off your future career with a simple challenge, spread out into small steps over 10 days. That means two weeks to full Handshake mastery! This event is simple, just RSVP to the event and each day of the event you will get an email sent to your Wright State email account with that day's task to complete. Those who RSVP and complete their profile will be entered into a drawing for a Starbucks gift card.
On the last day of the challenge, October 7th from 10:30 AM-11 AM, there will be a live session if you have questions or want help navigating Handshake.
**Helpful Hint**--Have an updated version of your resume ready. Feel free to schedule an appointment with your Career Consultant to have it reviewed. ...and make sure to register for the Career Fair!
