CaTS Software Licensing Quick List
Please Note: Software can only be installed on university-owned computers. Software is not for personal/home use.
CaTS coordinates volume license agreements for numerous software applications. Some are offered to departments at no cost, while
others are charged back with a licensing fee. Unless otherwise noted, licensing cost does not cover the cost of any future upgrade or new
versions. To request software licensing, see the instructions below. For questions about university software licensing,
contact the Help Desk.
Important Note: Due to the start of Fall Semester, departmental software order requests may be delayed between Monday, August 19 and Friday, August 30th. Please submit any high-priority orders by Friday, August 16th.

How to Order Software
FREE SOFTWARE: To order any of the free software applications listed above, please contact the Help Desk.
Installation of free software on non-supported systems may incur Desktop Services installation charges.
SOFTWARE REQUIRING PURCHASE: For software that is licensed at a cost, please follow the steps below:
- Contact your Business Manager or Departmental Administrative Assistant, listing the software you want to purchase.
- Your Business Manager will need the name of the product, the platform (Windows or Mac) and your campus username (w###abc).
- The Business Manager should prepare a Banner Finannce Journal Voucher by retrieving either JJCATS2 for SAS & SPSS or JJCATS1 for all other software. To retrieve these Jumpstart JVs:
- On Banner Finance, Create an Expensive or Budget Transfer
- in the Use Copy box, type in either JJCATS1 or JJCATS2
- click the Retrieve button
- see the Document Text for detailed instructions
- The JV will go through the normal review and approve process.
- CaTS will then contact the end user (the person that will be using the software) to arrange installation.
Purchasing Other Software Titles
CaTS centrally licenses and redistributes the software titles listed in the above table. In addition, CaTS maintains contracts with several other companies for the purchase of other frequently requested software. CaTS can assist you in purchasing at the best discounted price.
