CaTS Software Licensing Quick List

CaTS coordinates volume license agreements for numerous software applications. Some are offered to departments at no cost, while others are charged back with a licensing fee. Unless otherwise noted, licensing cost does not cover the cost of any future upgrade or new versions. To request software licensing, see the instructions below. Purchasing Other Software Titles

CaTS centrally licenses and redistributes the software titles listed in the above table. In addition, CaTS maintains contracts with several other companies for the purchase of other frequently requested software.

Microsoft: The CaTS contract with Microsoft covers licenses for Windows, Office, and Visual Studio. For other Microsoft titles such as Project, Visio, etc., please contact our Microsoft reseller, SHI.

Adobe: CaTS maintains an Adobe CLP Campus License Agreement wih Adobe via Academic Superstore. Products are sold as individual licenses and install media. For example, if you wish to install an Adobe product on 3 computers, you will need to purchase 3 licenses and 1 install disk. For complete details, contact the Academic Superstore.

Other Sources of Academically Priced Software: There are a number of companies that specialize in software priced specifically for education customers. These include: Academic Superstore, CampusTech and JourneyEd.com.
 

Important Information

* Installation of Microsoft Office and other products on non-supported PCs may incur Desktop Services installation charges.

University-Owned Computers Only: Software can only be installed on university-owned computers. Software is not for personal/home use.

FREE SOFTWARE: To arrange installation of any of the free software applications onto your university-owned computer, please contact the Help Desk.

CHARGED SOFTWARE: For software that is licensed at a cost, payment must first be processed before installation can occur. Please ask your departmental Business Manager to prepare a Banner journal voucher for the purchase of the software. The FOAPAL for the credit side (minus side) of the transation is 190000-218366-737930-60005 for all products except SAS and SPSS. For these licenses, please use FOPAL 190000-218304-767930-60005.

In the JV description you must include the following: department org number, department name, name of the person the software is for, their Novell login (ie:w000abc) the software required and the platform (Windows or Mac). This will expedite your request. Once the budget transfer has been approved, you will be contacted to arrange installation.
