Introduction
Knowing what you can safely update, and what requires help from the Web Team, helps keep your site accurate, accessible, and consistent.
This page outlines what editors can manage on their own and when to submit a support request.
What You Can Edit Yourself
Most routine updates can be made directly by editors who have access to a site.
You can update:
- Text within the body of a page
- Headings, paragraphs, and basic formatting
- Lists and short informational sections
- Links to internal or external pages
- Contact information, dates, and minor corrections
- Content that does not change the structure of the page
If your update stays within the existing structure of the page, you can usually complete it yourself.
When You Should Request Support
Some updates require help from the Web Strategy Team because they involve layout, structure, permissions, or system functionality. All requests must be submitted as either a project request in Lytho or a web support ticket in ServiceNow to ensure proper tracking, security, and governance.
Submit a request when you need:
Structural or Layout Changes
- Creating new pages or sections
- Changing page layout or structure
- Updating menus or navigation
- Creating, changing, or removing URL aliases
Troubleshooting or Technical Issues
- Pages not saving correctly
- Broken layouts or unexpected display issues
- Images or files that need to be replaced or uploaded
- Access issues or permission changes
Guidance or Review
- Help deciding where new content should go
- Accessibility, readability, or formatting questions
- Updates to high-visibility or time-sensitive content
- Questions about content types or features you haven’t used before

If you’re unsure whether something is safe to edit yourself, submit a request. We’ll review it and guide you.
