Gordon B Skinner, a highly regarded physical chemist interested in gas kinetics at high temperatures, conducted research at Monsanto (1951-1964) and at Wright State University (Dayton, Ohio, 1964-1986).

Professor George Griffith Hess was born in Collingswood, New Jersey. He graduated from Juniata College and received his PhD from Penn State. Coming to Wright State in the second year of its existence, he taught chemistry here for 34 years.

Don Swanson came to Wright State in 1971 when the university was only nine years old. He was an integral part of the Department of English until his retirement in 1998. All who encountered him remembers him with great affection and respect. Dr.

Dr. Ferrari served as chancellor and professor of management at Texas Christian University from 1998-2003. Prior to that, he served as president of Drake University and provost at Wright State University and Bowling Green State University. He died on May 15, 2015.

One of his great joys was providing scholarships and mentoring the young men that worked for him on the farm during the summer months. These young men, whom he thought of and cared for as sons, helped him prepare the farm for his annual Concerts in the Country, church services, weddings and family reunions that took place on the Petersons' Valley View Farm. He died at home on Feb. 28, 2015.
