Each year Wright State commemorates Kristallnacht, known as the "Night of Broken Glass." In November 1938, thousands of Jewish homes and businesses throughout Germany were ransacked, hundreds of synagogues burned, and dozens killed by Nazi storm troopers. Additionally, 30,000 Jewish men were arrested and deported to concentration camps. Kristallnacht is generally considered the start of the Holocaust, which resulted in the murder of 6 million Jews.
This year's commemoration will highlight the publication of "Miracle of Miracles: A Dayton Ohio Man's Story of Holocaust Survival," written by Samuel Heider, assisted by Stevie Ann Kremer.
