A new version of WINGS was launched on September 15, 2015. The new WINGS provides enhanced functionality and a streamlined user interface. Classic WINGS (the older version of WINGS) is no longer available.

FAQs

  • Where are Course Studio and Group Studio?

    Both Course Studio and Group Studio are not available in the new WINGS. Course Studio is being replaced by Pilot, and Group Studio is being replaced by Office 365’s Online Communities. To learn more about your options, visit: https://www.wright.edu/information-technology/services/overview.

  • How do I filter announcements?

    The 'Announcements' header contains a gear which will expand when selected. A menu of filter options will be displayed, and you can select which tags you want to see in order to tailor your announcements view to a specific category. This filter will then be applied to all Campus, Student and Employee announcements on your homepage.

  • How do I get to my personal calendar?

    To access your personal calendar, select the ‘Office 365/Email’ icon on the top right hand side of the page. Once you have opened your email, select the calendar icon on the top right hand side of the screen (the first icon).

  • How do I get to the Library resources?

    At the very top of the page there is a black tool bar (as seen on all wright.edu pages). Select ‘Libraries’ from the available links.

  • How do I import my bookmarks from Classic WINGS?

     Bookmarks cannot be directly imported from Classic WINGS into the new WINGS. You will need to go to Classic WINGS to view or copy the information and then add them manually to the "My Links" section in the new WINGS.

  • How do I personalize the new WINGS portal?

    The information shown in the new WINGS portal is based on things about you, such as your relationships to the University. Over time, you’ll begin to see additional targeted information appear as departments and programs begin to provide content. By removing outdated information and the items available through the website, we’ve been able to streamline WINGS content and eliminate the need for manual personalization. However, you are able to add bookmarks by using the "My Links" section. 

  • How do I sort bookmarks in the "My Links" section?

    You can now sort bookmarks under the "My Links" area by using categories. Bookmarks are sorted alphabetically by default.

  • Where is the Services and Organizations area that was in the WINGS Resource tab?

    The majority of the links that were featured in the WINGS Resource tab are department websites from wright.edu that can be located via the A-Z index or Directories at the top of the page. You can also enter the name of the department in the 'Search Wright State' box at the top of the page.

  • Can I still access data from Classic WINGS after it is retired on December 8?

    CaTS recommends you retrieve your data from Classic WINGS before December 8. If you need data from the Classic WINGS portal after December 8, please contact the CaTS Help Desk at (937) 775-4827.

Classic WINGS will be retired and no longer available to the Wright State community. CaTS has also made more updates to the new WINGS portal.

WINGS Update for 11/23/15

Monday, November 23, 2015

On November 24, an update will be made to the WINGS Portal. The portal's Drupal platform was updated, and the portal’s footer now includes the CaTS Help Desk’s email, instead of the reference to the Marketing Team. 

There will be a 15-30 minute time span that WINGS will be unavailable between 6:30am and 7:30am tomorrow. If you have any questions, please call the CaTS Help Desk at (937) 775-4827 or email helpdesk@wright.edu.
