Challenge yourself over Spring Break backpacking 29 miles through one of the most spectacular canyons in the world. There is truly no better way to see the canyon then hiking all the way down and back up. Elevation will range from 6,400 ft on top of the South Rim to 2,200 ft along the Colorado River. Participants will carry a full backpack with personal and group gear, and travel along difficult and remote terrain. This trip includes five days and four nights in the canyon with a rest day at the bottom to enjoy the magnificent Colorado River. 

Cost: $499, $100 deposit required to register with remaining balance due one month before trip departure 

Cost Includes: all permits, two nights in hotel, ORC Trip Leaders, backcountry meals, all equipment, and transportation from WSU in 12-passenger van. 

Activity Level: Intermediate – Advanced 
Physical Challenge Scale: Level 4, this trip is extremely challenging. This trip is not suitable for any person with a fear of heights. We will experience winter temperatures in the evenings and conditions on this trip could include snow and ice. *This trip requires a pre-trip fitness screening. 
Remoteness Scale: Level 3, this is a backcountry trip.
