Information for Parents
College is an exciting time for students and parents. There are many changes and challenges that both parents and their students will face. One of the greatest challenges can be the balance between "letting go" and allowing students to work through their struggles and being present as a support to them as they struggle. Counseling and Wellness Services can assist you with managing these concerns. We can be reached at 937-775-3407. We can provide general consultation regarding concerns that you may have, however, please note that we cannot provide information regarding your specific student without a written release by the student. Below are some helpful links to assist you with your student as they transition from high school to college at Wright State University.
- College Parent Central—College parent central was developed by Vicki Nelson who has more than twenty-five years of experience in higher education as a college teacher, academic advisor and administrator.
- Half of Us—Half of Us is a groundbreaking national campaign that raises awareness about the prevalence of mental health issues on campus and connects students to the appropriate resources to get help.
