Lunar New Year Celebration (January or February)
The Lunar New Year is celebrated by millions of people across the world on the first new moon of their calendar. Across Asia, this typically falls in late-January or in February. At Wright State, we have celebrated with numerous activities that include calligraphy and language workshops, paper lantern making and decorating, and the lion dance.
Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebrations (April)
Annual month-long events to celebrate and honor the culture and heritage of Asian and Pacific Islander contributions to Wright State and the world.
The annual Asian Culture Night, featuring food, fashion, and performances representing the Asian diaspora is typically held as part of these month-long celebrations. You can watch a past performance from the Dayton Qipao Troupe here:
