Register now for the Friends of the Libraries event, Faculty Publishing and CORE Scholar, February 16, 2017 in the Wright State Student Union Discovery Room, 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. A panel of Wright State faculty, a retiree, and a graduate student will discuss their experiences with scholarly publishing, self-publishing, open access and CORE Scholar, Wright State's institutional repository.
Meet the panel:
Abe Bassett, Professor Emeritus, is a founding director of Department of Theatre Arts at Wright State University. He was instrumental in designing the Creative Arts Center. Dr. Bassett is a long serving board member and former president of the Wright State Retirees Association (WSURA). He will focus on his photo collection from Theatre production during his time at Wright State, as well as, his books, articles, videos that he has made available in CORE Scholar.
Stephanie Dickey is the CoLA/CELIA Administrative Coordinator and Senior Lecturer in the department of English Languages and Literatures. Professor Dickey will discuss the various conferences and performances from CELIA and COLA that have been added to CORE Scholar.
John Flach is a professor of Psychology with a joint appointment in the Biomedical, Industrial, & Human Factors Engineering Department. His research interests are in applied cognitive psychology and the implications for human-technology integration in sociotechnical systems. Dr. Flach will be discussing his open access text book What Matters?:Putting Common Sense to Work.
Safia Janjua is a graduate student in the department of Environmental Sciences. She is one of the editors of the Journal of Bioresource Management.
Thomas Rooney is an Associate Professor of Biological Sciences. He works on both basic and applied problems in population ecology, community ecology, and conservation biology. Dr. Rooney and Ms. Janjua will focus on the Journal of Bioresource Management.
