Abstract: In 2020, Wright State University became the most affordable UCAP-AC (Advanced Curriculum University with an Actuarial Science Program) in Ohio. In this talk, I will tell you about Actuarial Science, why it is an attractive career choice, and how Wright State University can help you join this profession.

Bio:Julan Al-Yassin, CFA, is a Statistics Instructor and the Director of the Actuarial Science program at Wright State University. She previously worked as a Course Developer and Instructor for the master’s in actuarial science program at the University of Windsor. Prior to that, Julan worked in the financial industry as an Investment Advisor for several years.

Julan is currently a PhD Candidate in Applied Mathematics at Wright State University and is close to being credentialed as an Associate of the Society of Actuaries. Her PhD research centers on how the behavioral biases of retail investors affect stock market time series.
