Services Grid Now Available in Office 365 Outlook Web App

Thursday, January 29, 2015

As announced in a previous message to the university, Microsoft has now updated the Office 365 Outlook Web App to include a services grid. This grid, located in the upper left corner of the Outlook Web App, provides a drop down menu list of all services available to you within Office 365.

In order to access your email, calendar or other Office 365 tools, you can click on the icon displayed in the drop-down menu. If you want to pin an icon to your toolbar, you will need to click on the three dots at the top of the icon. The pinned icon will appear on your toolbar in the upper right hand corner for one-click access.

If you have any questions about this change, please contact the CaTS Help Desk at (937) 775- 4827 or email at helpdesk@wright.edu.

Current Issues with Office 365 Sites Service

Thursday, January 29, 2015

Currently, the Office 365 Sites service is experiencing intermittent
access issues. Users who are members or owners of an Office 365 site may
receive an error stating "Sorry, you don't have access to this page"
when attempting to visit that site. Some users have found success by
logging out and then back in to the Office 365 Sites service. Microsoft
is aware of this issue and is working on a resolution. Please direct all
questions or concerns to the CaTS Help Desk at (937) 775-4827, or toll
free at 1-888-775-4827.

Malware Downloaded from Seemingly Clean Office Documents

Wednesday, January 28, 2015

Bitdefender is warning Microsoft Office users of a new spam campaign that resembles a tax return, a remittance, or form of bill from a bank. The spam often carries a Microsoft Word or Excel attachment that will automatically execute a piece of malware with a macro code disguised to bypass traditional antivirus if downloaded.  Source: http://www.net-security.org/malware_news.php?id=2947

If you happen to open one of these attachments or have any other concerns, please be sure to call the CaTS Help Desk at (937)-775-4827 or email at helpdesk@wright.edu.
