Year 1: Moving In and Learning The Ropes
- Transition Plan
During your first year at Wright State University, you will be assigned a coach who will be a support person to talk to you about your goals, provide information, help you develop skills necessary for independence and academic success, celebrate your achievements, talk you through your challenges, and guide you on your path to college completion. Our program will help you become more acclimated to the campus environment and provide you with the resources you need to be successful in your college career.
We work with the following departments and off-campus partners to make sure you have a successful and meaningful transition into college. We also offer support to help you develop the skills you need to gain employment on- and off-campus to prepare for your future endeavors!

Now that you have a grasp of different aspects of campus life, we will then be able to assist you in obtaining leadership and ambassadorship roles within and around Wright State. Throughout your own experience and engaging in service-learning, you will be able to start building bridges with different networking groups within and around the community. This is also a time we can help you start exploring International Study Abroad opportunities.
Year 3: Finding Yourself
- Campus Leadership
- Study Abroad
After finding out where you fit in on campus, we will assist in connecting you with the right personnel to understand more about potential opportunities in areas that interest you professionally. We will work with you one-on-one to help you decide on a plan of action that is right for you, whether that includes internships, study abroad, or professional opportunities locally. We also encourage upper-class students to serve as peer ambassadors for first-year students.
Year 4: Moving On!
- Job Search & Career
- Graduate School
Looking above and beyond now is the time where our program will help you prepare for continuing education such as applying for Graduate School, internships, and practicum experiences to take your knowledge and skillset out into the real world.
