Ronald Royce Geibert, 71, Professor, Art and Art History

Ronald Royce Geibert, 71, of Beavercreek, Ohio, passed away on February 5, 2024.

Ron was born in Jamestown, N.D., on June 2, 1952. He graduated from Benson High School in Omaha, Neb., and continued on to receive a BFA from Creighton University and an MFA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Ron was married to Arlon Zabel on August 15, 1975. They were married 48 years.

Ron was a photography professor at Wright State University for 27 years and retired in 2008. His photographs can be found in places such as New York City’s Museum of Modern Art, the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris, the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, and the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. He enjoyed volunteering at We Care Arts, swimming, producing photography books, and discussing current events.

Ron is survived by his loving wife Arlon Zabel of Beavercreek, his daughter Courtney Geibert of Redwood City, CA, his brother Bob Geibert of Palm Springs, CA, his brother Jan Geibert and his wife Cindy of Omaha, NE, his sister Linda Tetzlaff and her husband Tom of Omaha, NE, his sister Joyce Geibert of Omaha, NE, and numerous friends.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, William Clair Geibert and Dorothy Evelyn Kuntemeier.

The funeral service will be held at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Dayton at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to We Care Arts or Epiphany Lutheran Church.
