Detrice Green Barry, 58, passed away the evening of Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, at Hawthorn Glen Nursing Home. She was born to the late Roosevelt and Ethel Ray (Covin) Green on Sept. 24, 1965, in Albany, Ga.
Detrice was a loving and devoted mother to her boys, Denis Jr. and Anthony Barry. She earned multiple degrees including a Ph.D. and was an associate professor of nursing at Wright State University.
Detrice was heavily involved in the hemophilia community, an active member of the Ohio Nurses Association and a devoted member of the AKA Sorority. She loved to cook, bake, shop and spend time with her family.
Detrice is survived by her sons Denis (fiancé Lexy Benjamin) Barry Jr, Anthony (girlfriend Rachel Simon) Barry; two sisters Carletha Gates, Darlene Trice, and many longtime family friends and colleagues.
