University Exploring Plans to Combine Graduate School and Honors Program

To elevate awareness of our graduate and honors programs and strengthen recruiting, the Office of the Provost is exploring the reorganization of two existing administrative units, The Graduate School and the University Honors Program, into a single unit: The College of Graduate and Honors Studies. More than 22 percent of our current honors students continue into a graduate program at Wright State. Reorganization provides a unique opportunity to improve our pipeline programs and provide direct services to our honors and graduate students. The staff in the newly reorganized college will be supervised by a dean upon the successful completion of a national search planned for early 2023.

Our faculty and staff have a legitimate interest in the future of graduate and honors studies at Wright State and we understand they may wish to share their thoughts on this change.

We highly value your opinions and would like to hear from you. From October 7 to December 7, 2022, the Office of the Provost invites comment on the intent to reorganize these two units. Your participation will help the university assess the potential impact of the proposed College of Graduate and Honors Studies.

Please provide your feedback via this Qualtrics survey, which should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
