About

October 1, 2025 - Further Together

Dear Colleagues,

World Mental Health Day events begin today and continue through tomorrow, offering opportunities for reflection, compassion, and connection. The robust schedule includes a wide range of events and activities that promote well-being, encourage self-care, and deepen our collective awareness of mental health.=

I hope you will take part in the events that resonate with you — whether stopping by the Wellness Resource Fair, joining a mindful walk, engaging in open conversations, or simply taking a moment for yourself. Your participation affirms our shared commitment to fostering a supportive, stigma-free campus environment.

Thank you for your ongoing contributions to our university community. I encourage you to take time to care for your own well-being and that of those around you.

Student Success Center’s 10th Anniversary

We invite faculty, staff, and students to join us in celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Student Success Center (SSC) on Wednesday, October 15.

For the past decade, the SSC has provided transformative support for our students, thanks in part to generous contributions from the Mathile Family Foundation and the Berry Foundation. Representatives from both foundations will join us for the celebration.

The SSC will host an open house “birthday party” with a brief program at 3 p.m., featuring remarks from student speakers, the Mathile Family Foundation, the Berry Family Foundation, and the Charles D. Berry Foundation. You are invited to explore the space, connect with colleagues, and see firsthand the impactful work of the Academic Success Centers.

If your schedule allows, we encourage you and your students to join us for this special celebration.

National Transfer Student Week

Nearly 30% of Wright State’s new student class is comprised of transfer students, and we want them to feel supported and welcomed. As we approach National Transfer Student Week, from Oct. 20–24, we invite you to share a few words of encouragement or advice for transfer students. Your messages will be featured on social media to help foster a welcoming, transfer-affirming culture during the week.

Please take a moment to fill out the staff and faculty words of wisdom form. Thank you for supporting our transfer students and helping them feel at home at Wright State.

Donations Needed for the Student Supply Closet

The Academic Success Centers’ Supplies for Success station is experiencing higher demand for school supplies earlier in the semester, and some of the most requested items are running low. Donations may be dropped off at the Academic Success Centers, in 122 Student Success Center, contributed through its Amazon wishlist, or in a bin now available in your dean’s office.

The supply closet ensures that students have access to no-cost materials that help them stay organized and prepared. Your support now will help us continue meeting students’ needs throughout the semester.

The Student Success Navigator showcases the wide range of resources designed to support our students. Whether students are interested in joining a student organization, looking for access to mental health services, playing a sport, or finding a job, all information is available in one central location.

I am grateful for your dedication to promoting student success. I hope you have a wonderful and productive week!
