Dear Colleagues,
Join your Wright State colleagues — and Raiders and Lakers from around the globe — and Give Back to the Pack on the annual Wright Day to Give. By making a gift on Tuesday, September 30, or Wednesday, October 1, you can make a difference in the lives of our students.
This year’s Wright Day to Give will launch with kickoff events at Southern Ohio Brewing in Beavercreek and Moeller Brew Barn in Maria Stein on September 30. Stop by anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. I will be serving drinks at Southern Ohio Brewing with President Edwards and some of our deans! Enjoy appetizers, giveaways, and raffle prizes.
On Wednesday, October 1, you can be a champion for Wright Day to Give by spreading the word on your social media platforms and by making a gift. Use our Wright Day to Give Social Media Toolkit for ready-to-share content that makes it easy to inspire your friends and followers to get involved.
There will be a variety of challenges and matching gifts that you can share throughout the day to encourage participation. The college with the highest number of alumni donors will earn a $5,000 bonus for its priority funds!
Make an early gift now or anytime on September 30 or October 1.
Now is the perfect time to go further in our commitment to supporting Wright State’s amazing students. Together, we can make an even greater impact. Thank you for being part of this effort!
Increase in Employment Scams Targeting Students
The Career Hub has been made aware of an increase in employment scams directed at our student community. One of the latest incidents involved a fraudulent job posting that was initially emailed to faculty and staff and then forwarded to students. Unfortunately, the posting was a scam designed to solicit money from students.
How You Can Help: To protect our students, please do not forward job postings directly to students. Instead, send any job opportunities to the Career Hub for review. If the posting is verified and approved, it will be made available to students through Handshake, our official job and internship platform.
National Transfer Student Week
Nearly 30% of Wright State’s new student class is comprised of transfer students, and we want them to feel supported and welcomed. As we approach National Transfer Student Week, from Oct. 20–24, we invite you to share a few words of encouragement or advice for transfer students. Your messages will be featured on social media to help foster a welcoming, transfer-affirming culture during National Transfer Student Week.
Please take a moment to fill out the staff and faculty words of wisdom form. Thank you for supporting our transfer students and helping them feel at home at Wright State.

Donations Needed for the Student Supply Closet
The Academic Success Centers’ Supply Closet is experiencing higher demand for school supplies earlier in the semester, and some of the most requested items are running low. Donations may be dropped off at the Academic Success Centers, in 122 Student Success Center, contributed through its Amazon wishlist, or in a bin now available in your dean’s office.
The Supply Closet was established through a Students First Fund grant from the Wright State University Foundation. Supplies ensure that students have access to no-cost materials that help them stay organized and prepared.
Your support now will help us continue meeting students’ needs throughout the semester.
