Dear Colleagues,
This afternoon is the first official Homecoming event for students: the Back to the Block Homecoming Kickoff from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Union Atrium. I encourage you to promote this event to your students as it will feature free food, giveaways, and music for them to enjoy. As a reminder, the full schedule of events is available at wright.edu/homecoming. Homecoming is a celebratory time, and I encourage you to participate in the events that interest you.
I also want to thank you for your patience and adaptability as last week’s weather impacted operations on both campuses. Your continued support of our students during these disruptions is greatly appreciated.
HLC Student Survey Reminder
The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) student opinion survey is now open and will remain available to students through February 11. The feedback gathered through this survey will help inform the HLC peer review team as they prepare for their campus visit in April.
Please continue to encourage your students to complete the survey before it closes on February 11. Strong participation ensures that the reviewers receive a broad and accurate picture of the student experience at Wright State.
Green and Gold Admitted Student Days: Faculty Involvement
Throughout the Spring Semester, the Office of Admissions will host five Green and Gold Admitted Student Days. Your involvement during this time is important and encouraged—your deans and college recruiters can provide ways for you to welcome admitted students and families and help us show them what a welcoming and supportive community we foster.
Green and Gold Admitted Student Days will take place on February 18, March 11, March 24, April 9, and April 21.
Study Abroad Application and Scholarship Workshop
Study abroad experiences are a recognized high‑impact practice that can significantly enhance students’ academic and personal growth. However, the cost of international programs can be a barrier for many. To help students navigate these challenges, the University Center for International Education (UCIE) is offering Study Abroad Application and Scholarship Workshop drop‑in sessions to assist students with completing their scholarship applications.
Please consider sharing this opportunity with students who may be interested in international study.
ODHE Changing Campus Culture Initiative Survey
The Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) has requested all Ohio colleges and universities collect information regarding perceptions of safety from sexual harassment/violence on campus. The survey is part of the ODHE Changing Campus Culture initiative, which supports the work of all Ohio institutions of higher education to end sexual violence.
Your participation is encouraged and will help evaluate, frame, and improve efforts to keep all students and employees safe. Participation is voluntary and completely anonymous. The questionnaire takes about five minutes to complete, and you can choose to stop at any time.

Expanded Access to ACS Journals and No‑Cost Publishing for Authors
OhioLINK has finalized a new agreement with the American Chemical Society (ACS) that significantly expands resources available to the Wright State community. Under this upgraded agreement, Wright State researchers now have access to 29 additional ACS journals, bringing the total number of accessible titles to over 70.
In addition to expanded access, the agreement waives article processing charges for corresponding authors publishing in any ACS hybrid journal, allowing Wright State authors to publish open access at no cost. There are no institutional limits on the number of articles that may be published under this arrangement. Authors should use their Wright State email address during submission to ensure eligibility.

When a Student Needs Support
Wright.edu/help is a great resource for helping students or making referrals. This site contains contact information for emergency or essential departments that can assist your students all in one location.
The Student Success Navigator showcases the wide range of resources available to support our students. Whether students are interested in joining a student organization, looking for access to mental health services, playing a sport, or finding a job, all information is available in one central location.
Issuing an Early Alert is an important way to connect students with needed academic or personal support. Faculty can submit Early Alerts through the Slate Student Success Portal, enabling advisors and support staff to intervene early and guide students toward available resources.
