On Wednesday, March 23rd, the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology will be hosting their fifth department sponsored seminar of the Spring 2022 semester. Dr. Terry Oroszi hosts Director Mike Shannon (retired), MPA, MPM, from the Federal Senior Executive Service of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Mr. Shannon is a self-described "Policy Nerd" having developed, written, and promulgated countless government and organizational policies on many controversial and sensitive topics.
Mr. Shannon's presentation on March 23rd is an analysis and discussion of applicable policy changes and recent publication of guidelines applicable to the U.S. Research Enterprise in response to threats of non-compliance, theft of intellectual property, and manipulation of research award programs. This discussion will include a brief presentation of the threat and quickly move to solutions. The presentation will include an introduction of the most recent policy, guidelines, (NSPM33, NDAA, etc.) and approaches to research security program operations including new tools and services available to support research administration and organizational grant program aspirations.
All members of the Wright State University research community, faculty, and administration are invited to join the seminar in Medical Sciences 120 (Auditorium). A live-stream link will also be available for those who cannot attend in-person. Please contact Program Coordinator Corinne Thaxton for the link if interested: corinne.thaxton@wright.edu.
