The Department of Modern Languages invites you to its Lecture Series:“Tradition and Innovation in the Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico” by Ignacio García May

During its 27 years of existence, the National Golden Age Theatre (Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico) has kept alive the repertory of Spanish Golden Age drama. With its bold staging approach and its lively productions, the CNTC has transformed classical Spanish theater.
In this lecture, and with some visual support that illuminates the productions’ aesthetics, we’ll take a look at the history of the company and its main features.

Ignacio García May is a Visiting Fellow at the Taft Center, University of Cincinnati.
