IT SECURITY TRAINING
This workshop will cover the various threats to your home and office computer, and ways to prevent those threats. Also covered will be viruses, spyware/adware, and the proper use of software and hardware firewalls. By the end of the workshop, you will have a good knowledge of the various computer security issues and how to protect yourself. Here's a rundown of the topics included:
- Part 1 - Various types of viruses, how you can get infected, and how to protect your computer from infection
- Part 2 - Spyware/adware and how to remove it from your computer
- Part 3 - Various firewall programs that are available and how they can help you protect your computer
- Part 4 - Miscellaneous security issues such as popups and popup blockers, as well as e-mail spam, hoaxes, and phishing
- Part 5 - Desktop data protection guidelines
