Wright State University Accounts

University ID (UID)

Format of Account: 9 digits; Begins with "U", followed by 8 numbers. Example: U01234567

Used For: The UID, along with your PIN, is used to access the WINGS Express system for academic services (class registration, viewing grades, viewing financial aid information, etc.). You also use this to register for new student orientation.

PIN Expiration: Once you change the PIN for your UID, the PIN never expires. You will only need to change it if you forget it.

How to Change Your PIN:

  1. Go to http://wingsexpress.wright.edu
  2. Enter your UID and click 'Forgot PIN?'
  3. Answer your security questions
  4. Enter your new PIN and click 'Reset PIN' (see below for PIN requirements)

Campus & Office 365 Accounts

Changing Your Password

Your Campus and Office 365 Accounts share the same password.

  1. Login to the WINGS website.
  2. Click on the Change Password button in the top right corner.
  3. Enter your current password.
  4. Enter and confirm your new password, making sure to follow the requirements listed at the bottom of the page.
  5. lick the Submit button.



After Changing Your Password:

Change the Password on Mobile Device Email Apps

To ensure you don't get locked out of your email, you'll need to change the password in any email app on your mobile device to match your new password. As there are numerous email apps available, these instructions focus on the built in mail apps for iOS and Android devices. If you need assistance with changing the password for your email app, contact the CaTS Help Desk at (937) 775-4827.

iOS Devices

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Tap the account name for your Wright State email account.
  4. Tap Account at the top of the screen.
  5. In the Password field, remove your current password.
  6. Enter your new password.
  7. Tap Done.

Android Devices

 For Android devices, note that you may see different options based on the operating system version you are using.

  1. Go in to your Email app.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Select your Wright State email account.
  4. Go to Incoming Settings.
  5. Enter your new password.
  6. Save your changes.

Change the Password for "WSU-Secure" Wireless Network

If you have used the "WSU-Secure" wireless network on Wright State's campus, you must change the password for the connection so you don't get locked out of your account. Most mobile devices will prompt you automatically to enter your password, but if you particular device does not, here are instructions for both iOS and Android devices.

iOS Devices

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi.
  3. Tap WSU-Secure.
  4. Tap Forget This Network.
  5. Tap Forget.
  6. Tap W-Fi in the top left.
  7. Allow your device to scan for wireless networks.
  8. Tap WSU-Secure again.
  9. Enter your campus "w" username.
  10. Enter your new password.
  11. Tap Join.
  12. If asked, accept the authentication certificate.

Android Devices

 For Android devices, note that you may see different options based on the operating system version you are using.

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi..
  3. Select WSU-Secure Wireless Network.
  4. Tap Forget.
  5. Re-select WSU-Secure Wireless Network.
  6. Enter your new password.
  7. Save your changes.

Important Account Information

  • Due to FERPA federal regulations, CaTS is unable to assist parents or legal guardians with logging in to or resetting the password of a student's account. If there is a problem with the account, the student will need to call or stop by the CaTS Help Desk for further assistance.
  • By using your WSU campus account, you assume full responsibility for all activity associated with the account. To avoid potential trouble, do not share your password with anyone.
  • Completely log out of a computer in the labs before you walk away. Failure to do so leaves your computer account open to tampering and improper use that you may be held responsible for.
  • Personal computers connecting to the Wright State network must meet the minimum standards for security of Wright State University networked devices.
  • Your Wright State account is for educational use, not financial gain. It should not be used for commercial purposes.
  • Report any trouble, such as harassment or strange emails, to the Help Desk.

WINGS Express PIN Requirements

When changing your WINGS Express PIN, please keep the following in mind:

  • The PIN length must be 8 to 14
  • The PIN must contain a letter.
  • The PIN must contain at least one of these numbers:0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
  • Do NOT use names or common words in the dictionary.
  • Do NOT use the following symbols % # . @ !
  • You can not use a PIN that you have used in the last 365 days
