What is a CAMPUS account?

All faculty, staff, and students are issued a CaTS CAMPUS account. The CAMPUS account provides an account name and password necessary to access the Internet, e-mail, personal and class disk space on network file servers, and other computing resources. With this account and a Web browser, faculty, staff and students can access the Internet from home using the CaTS modem banks. Account owners are responsible for any improper or illegal activity that occurs on their account. These activities include, but are not limited to, harassment of others through electronic communication and use of university resources for business purposes. Therefore, account owners should not share their password with anyone for any reason. Misuse of resources can result in the loss of account privileges and charges filed with the appropriate university offices. What is WINGS?

WINGS is the University Portal. It consists of web pages that act as a starting point for using the Web or web-based services such as e-mail, calendars, message boards, channels, and chat. Just log on at http://wings.wright.edu with your CAMPUS username/password and many campus services will be at your fingertips.

Note: Faculty, staff, and students are expected to check their official WSU e-mail address frequently to stay current with university communications. There is an increasing reliance on electronic communication among students, faculty, staff, and administration at Wright State University. Because of this reliance and the acceptance of electronic communication, e-mail is considered an official means for communication. The University will send official communications via e-mail and expects that those communications will be received and read in a timely fashion.

How do I reset my CAMPUS password?

Account management should be done through the WINGS portal. Once you log into WINGS, click the Change Password link located on the upper-left side of the screen and you will have the ability to change your password. You should change your password the first time you login. You only have 8 grace logins and once those are used, you will be locked out of your account. So, to be safe change your password as soon as possible.

For security reasons, you will be required to change your password every 120 days. You will receive a notification via e-mail indicating that your password will expire in 14 days. When you receive this notification, log into WINGS and click the Change Password link located on the upper left of the screen.

What is a University ID Number (UID)?

Your 9-digit University ID Number (UID) is assigned to you when you apply as a student or are affiliated with Wright State University. Your UID never changes and is never re-used. It is not your Social Security number. It is your permanent, unique ID number identifying you as a member of the University community.  An online service, WINGS Express, is available that provides a convenient set of self-service features. To access WINGS Express, log into WINGS (wings.wright.edu) and click on WINGS Express icon in the upper-right corner and log in with your UID. You will also need to use your 6 digit PIN. By default, your PIN is set to your birthday. For example: If your birthday is July 12, 1989, your PIN would be 071289.
