College Reorganization

Committee Charge

The Office of the Provost is recommending a structural reorganization of the academic enterprise to align with the Strategic Plan 2030. Specifically, the objectives of the reorganization are to:

  • Align the academic units with emerging industry trends and evolving workforce needs to ensure our students are prepared to lead in a dynamic world.
  • Forge lasting collaborative relationships and engage our communities with:
    • defense, engineering, and technology
    • healthcare
    • P–12 education
  • Advance knowledge through high-impact research, entrepreneurial collaboration, and creative endeavors.
  • Execute strategic recruitment and enrollment to propel Wright State’s continued growth as the region’s premier institution for higher education.

Guardrails for the feedback committee include:

  • How to promote student success, including advising, retention, and career pathways.
  • Support regional workforce needs with existing and new academic programs.
  • Promote interdisciplinary programs, research, and scholarly activity.
  • Strengthen institutional sustainability for maximum impact and flexibility.
  • Clarify the mission of Wright State University within the partnership areas above.
