Dear Colleagues,

I hope your first week of classes was wonderful. It is exciting to have our campuses full and energetic! As we continue in the Fall Semester, there are several training and development opportunities included in this week’s newsletter. I encourage you to attend and participate when you can.

As a reminder, the Participation Roster deadline for full-term classes is this Friday, September 8. In order to comply with federal financial aid regulations, instructors are required to determine if a student has established attendance or participated in each course. Research and Sponsored Programs

The University of Cincinnati is hosting two online seminars that are available to all Wright State University faculty:

  1. Techniques to Make Your Proposal Competitive
    September 12, from 11 a.m.–noon

    Registration

This workshop will present the competitive intelligence framework and demonstrate how faculty can use this framework to improve their proposals. This workshop will explore types of analyses regularly performed in academia: external profiles, capacity analysis, landscape analysis, program analysis, and sponsor analysis.

  2. Proposal Budgets: More Than a Bunch of Numbers
    September 28, from 2–3 p.m.

    Registration

Preparing and managing a grant proposal budget can be challenging. This presentation will highlight key information on the basics of budgeting, the available tools, and, most importantly, where to turn for assistance.

Curriculog Training

The Provost’s Office is hosting training sessions on the Curriculog system at 9:00 a.m. on September 13 and 14Register online today.

Each one-hour virtual training will focus on submitting the appropriate course or program proposal form in the Curriculog system and reviewing submissions. If you are unable to attend, the training session will be recorded.

When a Student Needs Support

Wright.edu/help is a great resource for helping students or making referrals. This site contains contact information for emergency or essential departments that can assist your students all in one location.

I hope you all have a wonderful first week! You are appreciated!

Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
