September 30, 2026 – Further Together

September 30, 2026

Dear Colleagues,

Tomorrow, Oct. 1, Wright State will celebrate World Mental Health Day, an opportunity to pause, connect and reflect on the importance of well-being within our campus community. Throughout the day, students, faculty and staff will have opportunities to participate in activities designed to support mental health, build community and promote self-care. Events include a campus-wide celebration on the Mall, wellness activities, resource sharing, a speaker presentation and other opportunities to engage in meaningful conversations about mental health and resilience.

I encourage you to participate in an activity that interests you and share these opportunities with your students. Whether you stop by for a few minutes or stay longer, your participation helps foster a supportive campus culture where well-being is valued and seeking support is encouraged.

Thank you for the many ways you contribute to a caring and connected Wright State community.

Support Student Success on Wright Day to Give

Join fellow Raiders and Lakers in supporting student success during Wright Day to Give, Wright State’s annual day of giving. Faculty and staff are encouraged to participate by making a gift, sharing campaign messages and helping raise awareness of the many ways philanthropy supports our students.

The celebration begins today with kickoff events at Southern Ohio Brewing in Beavercreek and Moeller Brew Barn in Maria Stein, featuring appetizers, giveaways and raffle prizes. Tomorrow, members of the Wright State community can support the campaign by making a gift and sharing Wright Day to Give messages through their social media networks.

Faculty and staff can promote Wright Day to Give by using the social media toolkit, which includes graphics, sample posts and other resources.

Every gift helps expand opportunities for our students and strengthens the Wright State experience. Make your gift today!

Quality Matters Workshop

The Center for Faculty Excellence is offering the Quality Matters (QM) Applying the QM Rubric Workshop, a nationally recognized professional development opportunity focused on evidence-based course design and quality assurance. The workshop provides practical strategies that faculty can apply to online, hybrid and face-to-face courses while supporting accreditation and continuous improvement efforts. Completion of the workshop also fulfills the prerequisite for the QM Peer Reviewer Course.

Additional benefits include learning nationally recognized course design standards, strengthening professional credentials and exploring program-level LMS templates that can improve course consistency, accessibility and student success.

The workshop is free for all Wright State employees, thanks to funding provided by the Provost’s Office (a $360 value). The interactive workshop will be offered on Webex from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Oct. 8, 2026
  • Nov. 13, 2026
  • March 26, 2027

Faculty are encouraged to register early, as fewer sessions will be offered this year and space may be limited.

Register or contact Dr. Sheri Stover with questions.

Accessibility Support Now Available in Pilot

YuJa Panorama is now available in all Pilot courses. Panorama is an accessibility tool that helps faculty identify and address accessibility issues in course materials, with automated analysis and guided recommendations. Students can also use Panorama to access alternative formats of course files on demand.

Implementing Panorama supports Wright State’s preparation for upcoming ADA Title II digital accessibility requirements, which take effect in April 2027.

Faculty can get started with introductory resources in the Wright State Online Resource Hub. The next Panorama training session will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 1 p.m.

Faculty are encouraged to explore the available resources and training as they begin using Panorama in their courses. Wright State Online and CaTS will continue to provide support and guidance throughout the transition.

Register for a Panorama training and learn more about digital access support.
