Summer Internship Deadline: NIA's STEP-UP

STEP-UP 2015.JPGSTEP-UP, a program of the National Institute of Health (NIH), is a summer Internships available in Biomedical Research for underrepresented minority and disadvantaged students to study diabetes, nutrition, obesity, digestive and kidney diseases, hematological, urologic, endocrine or metabolic diseases. Summer research can take place in any NIH-funded laboratory, and students will be matched with a mentor at their research institution choice whenever possible. 

Requirements:
  • Undergraduate students
  • Completed at least one year of college

Participants can participate in 10 weeks of full-time basic or clinical research.

Participants will receive:

  • A stipend of $4,500
  • Travel expenses to the STEP-UP conference August 2-5, 2015 in Bethesda, MD.
  • Limited housing is available—students must arrange and pay for their summer housing
