Invitation to Attend: WSU to Host the Ohio Supercomputer Center

Wright State University will host the Ohio Supercomputer Center for “An Introduction to the OSC” workshop, set to take place on Thursday, October 18.  The event will be held in NEC 101, and run from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.  No registration is required.  This initial presentation for faculty, Department Chairs, and Deans will be followed up with a longer workshop (with a hands on component for those bringing laptops) on Tuesday, October 30, targeting people likely to use the systems, including faculty, post docs, and graduate students.  Details for the second workshop will be forthcoming.

 

The speaker for the workshop on October 18 will be Dr. Karen Tomko, Director of Research Software Application at the Ohio Supercomputer Center.  She serves as manager of the Scientific Applications group at the OSC where she oversees the deployment of software for data analytics, modeling, and simulation.  Her research interests are in the field of parallelization and performance improvement for High Performance Computing applications.  She has been with the OSC since 2007 and has collaborated with computational scientists for more than 25 years.
