"It meant less worry about my financial situation while working hard to pursue my degree."

Tell us more about you and your life, your profession, and your successes.

I am happily married with two sons. I work for TriHealth in Cincinnati. I play piano and sing for my church and recently started teaching piano to a friend’s daughter. My sons both love to sing.

What is your favorite Wright State memory?

My favorite memory is the friends I made through classes and rehearsals, and spending time with them whenever we were free. It was nice to have their support in our degree work and outside of it. I went to Europe with some of them for a tour with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra chorus and it ranks among my top favorite memories ever.

What did receiving the ARTSGALA scholarship mean to you?

It meant less worry about my financial situation while working hard to pursue my degree. I was the first in my family to earn a bachelor’s degree, and it was my goal from the age of twelve so it meant a great deal to me to be given the scholarship. It is a prestigious honor. It was a great help to me in my journey and I am grateful.
