"I felt lucky to receive any type of financial aid for college, especially a scholarship that was primarily based on talent."

Tell us more about you and your life, your profession, and your successes.

I currently work as a print engineer for the Lorenz Corporation and I also work regularly as a freelance trumpet player locally, mainly with pop music groups. I’ve played at Levitt Pavilion this past year (D Funk All Stars), Dayton Reggae Festival, Dayton Jazz Festival, the Fraze Pavilion, and the Werk-Out Music and Arts Festival, as well as a handful of local events and music festivals since my graduation from Wright State.

What is your favorite Wright State memory?

We had a master class with Pat Harbison (trumpet). After I graduated, I also went back for a master class with Jeff Hamilton (drum set).

What did receiving the ARTSGALA scholarship mean to you?

I felt lucky to receive any type of financial aid for college, especially a scholarship that was primarily based on talent. It made me work harder as a student during my time at Wright State.
