Tell us more about you and your life, your profession, and your successes.
In 2016, I graduated from Wright State University. In the spring of 2018, I graduated from the Indiana Jacobs School of Music with a master's degree in classical guitar performance. This past summer, I won a scholarship to study guitar in Granada, Spain. I learned the native Flamenco music, performed in master classes, gave concerts, and enjoyed the Spanish culture—lots of tapas (wine/food)! It was a truly amazing experience. Currently, I’m continuing my education at Indiana University pursuing a doctorate. I’ve been hired to teach as an associate instructor and assistant director of the IU guitar orchestra.
What is your favorite Wright State memory?
I got to play music, among faculty and friends, to a wonderful and appreciative audience. I got to wear a suit, dance, enjoy food, listen to performances of my peers, celebrate our school, and meet new people. I even had a first kiss with my college crush. It’s safe to say that ARTSGALA is a blast for everyone!
What did receiving the ARTSGALA scholarship mean to you?
I want to extend a warm thank you to Wright State and its donors. I wouldn’t be living my dream today if it wasn’t for their generous support! I’m proud to say I graduated from such an amazing university.
