What is a Lottery number?
A Lottery number is the number we assign to each student. This number determines the order in which students will be able to choose their campus housing space for next year.
How are Lottery numbers assigned?
Lottery numbers are randomly assigned based on the number of credit hours you have. Simply, the more credit hours you have, the better the Lottery number you will receive.
What if I want to live in a different community or room?
If you want to move to a new community, or even a new room, you will need to attend the Lottery at your scheduled time.
What if I cannot attend Lottery at my scheduled time?
If you cannot attend Lottery at your scheduled time, you can choose a "proxy"
to attend for you. When you receive your Lottery
packet, instructions will be included about how
to complete the proxy form. Have your chosen person
attend Lottery for you with your proxy form.
If I lose my Lottery number, can I still get in at the door?
No. If you lose your Lottery ticket, you must come to the Office of Residence Services between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday to have your Lottery ticket reprinted. Otherwise, you will not be permitted to enter Lottery.
What if I want to stay where I am?
SQUAT your room! Squatting means that you can still have the room you are in
now for the following year.
